Madeline Stanway Brown, formerly of Bainbridge Island, died on March 8 in Silverdale. She was 99.
She was born Nov. 1, 1909 in Waterville, Wash. She was happily married to R. Lawrence Brown from 1949 until his death in July 2006.
They lived on Bainbridge Island for more than 25 years, then lived at Crista Shores in Silverdale for the past 14 years.
Early on, Madeline enjoyed hiking, skiing, boating and all outdoor activites. Later, she enjoyed travel, gardening, music and books.
She was always grateful for family, relatives, friends and good health.
She is survived by her niece and her husband, Carol and Tim Coulter, of Mukilteo, Wash.; their son, David Stanway Coulter, of Tucson, Ariz.; and her sister-in-law, Jean Stanway, of Mill Creek, Wash.
At her request, there will be no service.
