Marlys Jeanne (Huntley) Gideon, age 60, died Nov. 27 in Bremerton.

She was born Aug. 31, 1942 in Seattle to Gerald and Eloise (Wilson) Huntley. After graduating in 1960 from Bainbridge High School, where she was the yearbook editor, she attended Washington State University in Pullman.

In 1966, she moved to Manhattan Beach, Calif. There she met John R. Gideon in 1971; the two were married the following July in Palos Verdes, Calif. The couple moved to Bremerton in 1974.

She enjoyed flower arranging, gardening and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, John Gideon of Bremerton; son Rick Gideon of Bremerton; mother Eloise Huntley of Bainbridge Island; and sister Mary Jo Huntley McCarty of Malibu, Calif.

The family held a private service. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
