Bainbridge native Myrtle S. Taylor, age 78, died July 2 at Port Angeles Care Center.
She was born Nov. 25, 1923 on Bainbridge to Robert W. Schmidt and Anna Flodin.
After graduating from high school, she attended two years of business college. She later worked as a paralegal secretary.
On May 29, 1948, she married Earle R. Taylor on Bainbridge. For the last 15 years, the couple resided in the Port Angeles area.
An avid gardener of flowers and shrubs, she produced prize-winning garden displays. She was also an accomplished pianist and enjoyed playing both classical and popular music.
She is survived by her husband Earle Taylor of Port Angeles; daughter Corinne Ann Winters of Port Angeles; sister Georgina Bice of Lincoln, Neb.; brother Robert Soper of Staly, Minn. and two grandchildren.
At her request, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Drennan and Ford Funeral Home in Port Angeles.
