Nina Graybill Echols

Nina Graybill Echols died Oct. 27 at Hospice of Kitsap County Care Center in Bremerton. She was 90.

She was born Oct. 20, 1920 in Lindsey, Calif. Nina went to Fresno State College, where she majored in language and drama.

She and her husband Lawrence lived on the island from 1970-1976. After his death, Nina returned to the island in 1987 and built her home. Since then she has been active in Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church, serving as Elder and as a member of the choir. She appeared in many productions with Bainbridge Performing Arts and Island Theatre, as well as doing professional voice-overs.

She is survived by her daughter, Kerry Messett (Craig); son Nicholas Echols, and grandchildren Amanda Salanga and Joel Messett.
