Former island resident Norma Lucille Thompson, 93, died Jan. 28 at her home in Lacey.

She was born on Dec. 17, 1911, and resided on Bainbridge Island for 53 years.

She retired from the Bainbridge Island School District in 1974. While on the island she was a member of the Wing Point Golf and Country Club and the Poulsbo Yacht Club.

She and her husband, Alden, moved to Panorama City in Lacey in 1999.

Her husband preceded her in death in December 1999.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ken Cumle, Lacey, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
