Pamela Anne Bird

Former island resident Pamela Anne Bird, age 55, died Oct. 30 at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle from complications of a long-term liver disorder.

She was born Jan. 21, 1947 in Seattle to Jack and Mildred (Lintott) Bird.

She married Will Clark on May 27, 1998 in Las Vegas. The couple took her maiden name, becoming Will and Pamela Bird.

She worked as a legal secretary and later as office manager for a Seattle law firm before moving to Bainbridge in 1984 to become a licensed realtor. The couple moved to Driftwood Key near Hansville in 2000.

She enjoyed gardening, horses, birds and her miniature Pinscher, Annie Rose.

She is survived by her husband; her mother; two sons and their families: David (Lisa) Simpson and grandson Jacob, all of Scottsdale, Ariz. and John (Jennifer) Simpson and grandchildren Bailey, Blake and Madison, all of Snohomish; two sisters, Dorothy and her partner Zobra of Guemes Island, and Joan of Bellingham; and her former husbands, George Simpson and Pete Hertrich.

A family memorial was held Nov. 16. Arrangements are under the direction of Bleitz Funeral Home in Seattle. Memorial donations may be made to the UW Medical Center Transplant Unit in Seattle.
