Priscilla Alsip, age 90, died March 16 at Messenger House on Bainbridge Island, where she had resided for the past two years.
She was born Priscilla Eleanor Magill on Jan. 1, 1912 in Tacoma, Wash. to Jeannie Young Magill and Judge Francis A. Magill.
She attended the University of Puget Sound and received her degree from the University of Washington.
She married John F. Alsip Jr. in 1936 and moved to Nampa, Idaho, where the couple owned and operated the Alsip Funeral Chapel for over 30 years.
She spent her retirement years in Boise, Idaho and moved to Horizon House in Seattle in 1990.
She enjoyed writing, painting, reading and gardening. Swimming and snorkeling topped her list of outdoor activities.
She was a member of PEO, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Order of the Eastern Star and Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Alsip, who died in 1986.
She is survived by two sons, John F. Alsip and wife Kay of Excelsior, Minn. and Bruce F. Alsip and wife Vicki of Seattle; daughter Priscilla N. Lange and husband Edward of Bainbridge Island; seven grandchildren and four (soon to be five) great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. March 20 at Horizon House in Seattle, followed by burial at the New Tacoma Cemetery in Tacoma.
