Richard Dick Frederick Galleher

Richard Frederick Galleher died May 13 at his home in Poulsbo. He was 87.

He was born in March 1923 to Marie Soll and Richard Lewis Galleher.

He married Joyce Peterson in 1951.

A resident of Poulsbo and Nome, Alaska, Dick spent much of his life in boats and flying, including as a flying instructor in the Army Air Corp. and operating Munz Northern Airlines in Nome with his wife from 1962 until 1983.

Dick was preceded in death by his infant son Ross Michael; son Brian Gareth, parents, and sister Virginia George.

He is survived by children Gail Galleher (Frank Flavin), and Blaine Galleher (Kim Allen Galleher); grandchildren Brett and Conner Merboth; brother Jerry Galleher (Dede Galleher); nephew Dave George; niece Jennifer Vroom; and sister-in-law Jeanne Mitchell.

In addition to his family, Dick loved traveling (especially to Mexico), reading, woodworking, boating, driving his ’38 Packard, and flying.
