Robert Keith Goldsworthy

Robert Keith Goldsworthy, 38, died peacefully March 18 after a long illness.

He was born Sept. 3, 1966 in Detroit, Mich.

A long-time resident of Seattle, he graduated summa cum laude from Seattle Pacific University and spent most of his career at Bainbridge High School, where his passion for teaching, quick wit and generous spirit inspired students for more than a decade.

He loved to regale family and friends with his stories. He often volunteered his time and energy working on behalf of those whom he felt didn’t have a voice in society, as well as helping other organizations in need of compassion.

He is survived by his father, James Goldsworthy of Bothell, and stepmother Kathy Goldsworthy; brother Jamie Goldsworthy of Kenmore; sisters Cynthia Goldsworthy of Redmond and Jennifer (Troy) Holmes of Renton; and a nephew, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 26 at Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church on Bainbridge Island.

The family expressed gratitude for the doctors and nurses who provided care during his illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Bailey-Boushay House: 2720 E. Madison, Seattle, WA 98122 or Lifelong AIDS Alliance: 1002 E. Seneca St., Seattle, WA 98122.
