Sheila Rose passed away Jan. 5, 2017.
She began her 90 years in England, raised primarily by her grandmother after the early passing of her mother, and worked for a dentist, a theater, and the dog races while World War II raged across her country.
She moved to Canada, welcomed two children while perfecting her beautician skills, then moved her wee family to the U.S. to be with her sister, then happily settling down on Bainbridge Island where she pursued her love of gardening, horse racing, and finding just the right fashion piece fro her customers at Fredrick and Nelsons in Seattle.
In the later years, dementia began and Sheila Rose left her beloved Island for care facilities that transitioned along with the dementia advancement. A longtime smoker, despite quitting eight short months ago, the habit took its toll on our Sheila Rose damaging her lungs, giving cancer a home, and robbing her of breath in the end. She lived her life with a smile and left us with a twinkle in her cornflower blue eyes.
She is survived by her sister, Joyce Helen Forrester; son, Alan (wife Debbie) Wardle; daughter, Helen (Bentzien) Ross; grandchildren, Tyler Wardle, Claire (husband Dustin)Wardle, Graham (wife Allie) Wardle, Ben Wardle, Joy Wardle, Grace Wardle, Jaimie (husband Troy) Smith, Lyle (wife Leilani) Schneider; and great-grandson Mason (mother Jaimie) Smith.
