Shirley Ellen Loomis Storms, age 94, born in Elma, Washington on Dec. 26, 1922 passed away in Yakima, Washington on June 11, 2017. Shirley grew up in Elma, Washington. She lived in Seattle for many years before moving to Bainbridge Island, Poulsbo, and Selah.
She was a Social Worker for the Department of Health and Social Services in Bremerton, Washington. Some of her passions in life were Girl Scouts, Bainbridge Little Theater and Bainbridge Light Opera. She also enjoyed hiking and traveling to other countries.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Vicky) Lynch (Bill Priest) of Kingston, Washington, and Julie Loomis (Don Desallier)of Selah, Washington; son, Greg Loomis (Joy Loomis) of Mt Vernon, Washington, and step-daughter, Joan Parker of Shoreline, Washington. Shirley is also survived by her grandchildren, Alysha Falk, Marty Fogli, Rob Loomis, Toni Fogli, Ryan Loomis, Shane Loomis and step granddaughter, Shelly Freeze and several great grandchildren.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband’s, Vernon Doyle Loomis and Robert Storms and son Christopher “Kit” Loomis.
Shirley’s remains will be interred at Seabold Cemetery on Bainbridge Island. Per her request, there will be no formal service. To share a memory of Shirley visit:
