Susan Greenlee Fritz of Bainbridge Island passed away on June 7, 2017 in her home from cancer attended by friends, family, and caregivers.
Susan was born on October 14, 1930 in San Diego to Susanna Cecelia Davis and David Glass Greenlee Jr. Daughter of a Naval officer, they moved frequently during her youth and was on location in Pearl Harbor in 1941. She graduated from Our Lady of Peace Academy, San Diego in 1948. She worked for United Airlines as a manager of flight attendants and then married Robert Fritz in 1964. They had two children, Peter and Sarah, and raised them with a special influence on education and opportunity. She lived in San Francisco area for the majority of her adult life, and moved to Bainbridge Island in 2004 to be closer to family.
It is impossible to describe the impact Susan had on the lives of everyone she knew. She was a strong individual, with a wealth of diverse experiences that gave her a uniquely deep and broad perspective on life and relationships. She was a gifted designer and used her energy to create and bestow form and beauty on anything she touched.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents and brother, David Greenlee III and her ex-husband. She is survived by her children Peter (Bonnie) of Issaquah and Sarah (Mike Borkowski) of Colorado and grandchildren Ben and Sophia Fritz.
