Tom Ritchie died of a heart attack July 12. He was 56.

He was born June 28, 1949, on Bainbridge Island to Gena and Bud Ingram.

He later took the last name of his stepfather, Edwin Ritchie.

He went to Bainbridge High School and was in the Marines from 1968 to 1971.

He drove trucks for a living in Seattle and eventually moved to Oregon and drove trucks from there. He was a resident of Troutdale, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather.

He is survived by his mother, Gena Ritchie, Bainbridge Island; father, Bub Ingram, Pocatello, Idaho; daughter, Meghan Ritchie, Brooklyn, N.Y.; son, James Hearick, Lebanon, Ore.; brothers Ed Ritchie, Issaquah, and Jim Ritchie, Bainbridge Island; sister, Pat Ritchie, Bainbridge Island; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial is scheduled for 3 p.m. Aug. 14 at Seabold Hall, 14451 Komedal Road, Bainbridge Island.
