Timothy David Goon, 68, of Bainbridge Island, died on September 26, 2023 after a long illness. Family and friends will remember Tim as a kind and generous friend with a passion for family, Scouting, lacrosse, and golf.
Born on June 23, 1955, to Clifton and Kashiko Goon, Tim grew up in Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood. As a member of Boy Scout Troop 53 associated with the Japanese Baptist Church, Tim developed a love for the outdoors and lifelong friendships. After graduating from Franklin High School , Tim matriculated at Western Washington University where he took up the sport of lacrosse. Following his graduation from Western, Tim would go on to earn a Master’s degree from Oregon State University.
After graduating from Oregon State, Tim stayed in Oregon and worked for the Cities of Salem and Portland. Outside of work, Tim was a player, manager, and coach of Willamette University’s club lacrosse team. In 1987, Tim returned to Seattle where he started a long career at Metro/King County in the Wastewater Division. He retired as a Project Manager in 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Brennan, and sons David and Alexander Goon of Bainbridge Island; siblings, Stephen (Laura) of Barcelona Spain, Christopher (Babylita) of Federal Way, and sister Karen (Stephen Shelton) of Fircrest. He was a proud and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 6, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Bainbridge Island Stan Pocock Rowing Center 281 Brien Dr SE, Bainbridge Island.
