William “Bill” Sinnett, 54, of Bellingham, died suddenly at his home on Sept. 17.
He was born to Joe and JoAnna (Severt) Sinnett on June 15, 1948 in Bremerton, and was raised on Bainbridge Island.
A graduate of Bainbridge High School, he served as ASB president and played varsity baseball and basketball.
He was a mathematical “whiz” who received his bachelor’s degree in secondary math education from Western Washington State College in 1970.
He was part owner of S&S Enterprises, served on the board of directors of SkyDome Enterprises, and was business manager for Samish School in Bellingham.
A youth athletic coach for years, he was also highly involved with the Youth Soccer Association for more than 15 years. He was an active member of the Bellingham Slo-pitch Association, where he was known as “the only guy who could turn a home run into a single.”
He was an avid golfer, a Life Master Bridge player, and a trivia buff “who could give Alex Trebek a run for his money.” He enjoyed competitive games nearly as much as betting on an outcome.
He is survived by his wife Pam; son Josh Sinnett and wife Anne; his daughter “Princess” Rachel, her husband Lans Leedy, and their son Blue Leedy; brothers Dave Sinnett and wife Karen, Mike Sinnett, John Sinnett and wife Jan, Rob Sinnett and wife Jane; sister Cindy Irwin and husband Pat; Uncle Johnny Severt; Aunt Bernice Larson; father-in-law Jim Thurman; brother-in-law Jim Thurman and wife Sherri; sister-in-law Penny Othberg; a ton of nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend and golf buddy, Tom Lingbloom and his wife Gina.
