Steve Boom, a former landscaper on Bainbridge Island, passed away on May 19, 2017, four days short of his 67th birthday.
Steve was born May 13, 1950. As a young lad, Steve had a passion for ice hockey. His parents left Beaux Arts Village — his father worked for Boeing — and Steve surrendered skating on ice to skiing the mountains of Tehran, Iran.
He was a born athlete; he left the Tehran American School for Villa St. Jean International School in Fribourg, Switzerland and the majestic mountains of Zermatt, and was labeled an “extraordinary American skier.”
He is survived by his wife, Marge; daughter, Shari (Jeremiah) Ballou and Anna (John) Carter; sons, Chris Boom and Mike Boom; grandchildren, Isaiah, Tyler, Julia, John, Hunter, Ari and Landon; sisters, Karen (John) Uyeno and Ann (Dr. Dan) Davis; and his bud, Duncan Mcphee.
A public gathering is pending.
