Islander Willmetta “Willi” Allen, age 88, died Jan. 5 on Bainbridge.

She was born Dec. 2, 1915, in Redmond, Ore. She lived on Bainbridge Island for over 40 years.

She attended the Art Center School in Los Angeles where she met her husband, Chuck. They both worked in advertising art and illustration. She enjoyed drawing, painting and other art projects, and loved the dogs, cats, bird and wild animals she came in contact with daily.

Her husband of 65 years, Chuck, preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 2003. Arrangements are by Kass Funeral Home, Bainbridge.
