Yvonne Marie Rose

Yvonne Marie Rose, 56, of Bainbridge Island died May 13.

She was born Sept. 17, 1946 in Portland, Ore.

She lived in Bend. Ore., for 15 years, working at St. Charles Hospital as a radiology technician. She also worked at the University of Washington Medical Center as a student advisor in the X-ray department.

She was an active member of the National Ski Patrol on Mt. Bachelor in Bend, and a fine skier.

She served on the board of directors of the local theater group and founded the Amici Club, a local heritage group for Italians.

She and her husband Michael lived and cruised aboard their 42-foot sailboat for five years, exploring Alaska, Mexico, Central America, South America, the Caribbean and the East Coast before illness ended their voyage.

They then settled on Bainbridge Island, because it reminded them of their peaceful life aboard the sailboat.

She is survived by husband Michael Road and son Matthew Rose; mother Henrietta Cereghino; brother Michael Cereghino; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
