Bainbridge Island voters will help set the course for the Bainbridge Island City Council and the board of commissioners of the Bainbridge Island Fire Department on Election Day, Nov. 5.
Both governing bodies have a majority, or nearly one, on the ballot.
In the fire district race, four of five seats are up for election, and three of the races are contested.
For the Bainbridge Island City Council, three of seven seats are in the balance, and insightful observers rightly note that this election will solidify the start of the turnaround that began in the 2011 election or serve as a referendum for greater cooperation and consensus-building.
