Two Bainbridge Island club teams won state titles at the Presidents Cup over the weekend.
Bainbridge Island FC B05 defeated Kitsap Alliance in overtime penalty kicks 4-2, and Bainbridge Island FC B06 defeated Vancouver Timbers 2-0.
To get to the final, FC B05 beat Kitsap Alliance as Hudson Reynolds, a Bainbridge High School student, scored a goal. Blake Hoepfinger, a North Kitsap High School student, tallied a goal as the team tied Washington Premier 1-1. Bainbridge then beat Northwest United 2-1 with BHS students Aidan McLennan and Finn McCallum scoring. In the semifinal Bainbridge won 2-1 over ExFire Premier with Hoepfinger and McCallum again scoring. McCallum again scored in the finale, along with Kepler De Lanoy. Goalie Justin Anderson of NKHS made two penalty kick saves for the win.
For the FC B06 team, Bainbridge won 4-1 over Washington Premier, 5-1 over Eastside FC, lost to Athletico before beating Sound FC in a quarterfinal 2-1 with Aaron Lopez and August Peterson scoring goals. Lopez, of NKHS, scored the only goal in the semifinal for a 1-0 victory over Kitsap Alliance. In the title game BHS students Lucas Soboil and Peterson tallied goals.
The FC B03 team made it to the quarterfinals beating Washington Premier 2-0, tying eventual state champ 3-Rivers 0-0, tying Kitsap Alliance 1-1 then losing in the quarterfinals on penalty kicks 6-5 following a 3-3 overtime tie.
