The Bainbridge Spartans girls gymnastics team kicked off the season with a win over Roosevelt and Ingraham late last week.
Bainbridge finished with a team total score of 154.500, while the Rough Riders came in second with 148.650, and the Rams in third, 136.300.
BHS finished with a tie for third in the vault, with Mariko Ronan and teammate Kareese Pippinger sharing the honors with scores of 8.1.
Bainbridge took second and third place on the uneven parallel bars, with Sydney Johnson placing second (6.9) and Kati Cooper winning third (6.8).
The Spartans started to completely turn things around on the balance beam, with Ronan winning the event with a score of 8.5.
Lina Klinkenberg (8.15), Sydney Johnson (8.10) and Karen Klinkenberg (7.9) nabbed fourth, fifth and sixth places for Bainbridge on beam, respectively.
The Spartans swept the top three spots on the floor exercise.
Ronan was first with a 9.1. Johnson won second with a score of 8.8, and Keagan Daniels finished third in 8.5.
Ronan was the all-around champion of the event, with a total of 32.1. Johnson claimed the second spot for BHS, with an all-around score of 31.8.
