Bainbridge won the West Central District 2A gymnastics meet Wednesday, thanks to its depth and a win in the floor exercise by freshman Jade Bereman.
The Spartans took seventh, ninth and 10th in the all-around with junior captain Avery Gray at 34.575 points, Bereman at 34.375 and Grace Reeb at 34.025.
In the team competition, Bainbridge scored 160.75 points, with North Thurston second at 158.975. North Kitsap was sixth with 147.35 points and Kingston 17th out of 21 schools.
The state meet is next week in Sammamish.
Jordyn Lovett led North Kitsap placing ninth in the all-around with a 33.475. Skylar MacDonald of Central Kitsap, who practices with the Vikings, tied for fourth in the all-around with a 35.025. NK’s Arabelle Miller scored 29 and teammate Wren Mason-Todd 27.225.
Bereman scored a 9.325 to win the floor. Gray and MacDonald tied for second with two others with scores of 9.275. Reeb was sixth with her 9.2. Lovett scored a 9.025 for 10th.
Rachel Bruns of NK and Phare Dietrick of Bainbridge both had an 8.050. Alison Lovett of NK and Spartan Sofia Fleishmann both had 7.925, Elizabeth Olliffe of Bainbridge and Kelsey Derr of NK both had a 7.8, Miller a 7.65 and Mason-Todd a 7.075.
Analee McDonald had a 6.15 and Elli Falen a 5.55 for Kingston.
Gray had the best local finish in the balance beam, placing fourth with a 9.1 score. Bereman was seventh with an 8.925, Lovett 10th at 8.8 and MacDonald 12th at 8.525.
Derr had an 8.525, Reeb an 8.425, Olliffe a 7.825, Mason-Todd a 7.75, Kate Hansen of BHS a 7.65, Spartan Elizabeth Pickle a 7.5, Miller a 7.2, Peri Anderson of Kingston a 6.45, Julia Cleaver of NK a 6.3 and Natalie Cleaver of NK a 5.25.
MacDonald was second in the uneven bars at 9.1, Reeb seventh at 8.3, Gray eighth at 8.15. and Bereman 12th at 8.0.
Lovett scored a 7.5, Miller and Bruns both had a 6.4, Olliffe a 6.05, Mason-Todd a 5.5, Sydney Oswald of BHS a 5.45, Hansen a 4.9, Falen a 4.5, Arlene Morisath of NK a 4.4, Fiona Schmid of Kingston a 4.15 and Ellie Lewis of NK a 4.05.
No locals finished very high in the vault. Lovett was tops at 14th with a score of 8.15. MacDonald and Bereman was right behind her with scores of 8.125, and Reeb was next at 8.1.
