Two days worth of steep competition had the Bainbridge High School track team sweating for the glory at the Sea-King District meet.
The team didn’t walk away empty-handed last week. Many competitors returned home only to prepare for the state championships at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma this coming weekend.
Bainbridge High’s Cameron Brink became the district champion in discus, and placed fifth in shot put.
Kyler Mikami grabbed fifth place in the javelin.
Pearl Terry placed second in the 400 meter. Fellow Spartan Mikelle Ackerly took on the 800 meter and came in fifth.
Kate Shephard leaped into fourth place in the 100 hurdles.
Pearl Terry, Danielle Bogardus, Lindsay Wienkers, Katherine Bond, Serena Canner and Bailey Scheffler worked well as a team and became district champions in the girls 800-meter relay.
The girls 1,600-meter relay also brought home some district champions with team mates Pearl Terry, Isabel Ferguson, Lindsay Wienkers, Danielle Bogardus, Ivy Terry and Mikelle Ackerley.
