Members of the Bainbridge Island Dive Club had strong showings in the annual United States Diving Junior Olympic Region 10 diving championships.
The championships were held March 2-4 in Beaverton, Ore., and included divers from Washington, northern and central California, Idaho, Utah, Montana, Alaska and Hawaii. The top six divers in each category were selected at the meet to dive at the Winter Western National Championships.
More than 160 divers attended the event, and the meet had divers with a range of skills from elite to returning national champions.
In the age 12-13 girls event, Cameron Rouser, from Kingston, placed 19th on three-meter with a finishing score of 174.55, and 25th with a score of 144.5 on the one-meter. Zora Opalka, in her first meet, placed 25th on three-meter with a score of 138.05, and 27th on one-meter scoring 114.75.
