SEATTLE – The Bainbridge High varsity baseball team remained undefeated in Metro League play after a 10-2 win over Nathan Hale at Meadowbrook Park on Monday, April 3.
The Spartans erupted for eight runs in the top of the second inning, capped by a two-run homer by Mitch Kurtz, said BHS Co-Head Coach Bill Ackerley.
Ian Matthews drove in two runs and scored two more with a triple in the big second inning, followed up by a double in the fourth.
Liam Hatakenaka, Garrett Aichele and Tad Grindeland combined from the mound to hold Nathan Hale to five hits. Aichele also contributed three RBIs to lead the team in that category.
Next, the Spartans finally got the chance to play at home (after poor field conditions consistently rearranged their slated early season home games), first against Bishop Blanchet on Wednesday, and then at 4 p.m. Friday, April 7 against Ingraham.
