SEATTLE – The Bainbridge High School varsity wrestling team bested both Bishop Blanchet (54-18) and Lakeside (39-24) in a recent doubleheader match on the road.
Against Blanchet, there were just two double forfeits (182- and 220-pound classes), and BHS claimed five wins by forfeit.
On the mat, Bainbridge saw four victories: Ben Dunscombe (138 pounds) pinned Jack Ziemeer in 4:25, 145-pounder Doug Takada pinned Erik Hodenland in 1:44, Clayton Marsh (152 pounds) pinned Bryan Hooks in 3:15, and Clay Wren pinned Emanuel Sanchez in 2:24 in the 170-pound bracket.
Blanchet’s Connor Mahoney (285) pinned BHS’ Sean Hooyer in 29 seconds.
Against Lakeside, there were three double forfeits and BHS scored five forfeit wins.
Lakeside notched three victories: Bryant Takiama (120-pounds) pinned Aidan McInnis in 1:11, 126-pounder Wren Healey pinned Indigo Weappa in 31 seconds, and Sam Petersen (285-pounds) pinned Sean Hooyer in 1:33.
Bainbridge notched two hard-fought wins, as Ben Dunscombe (138-pounds) pinned Tavin Peteerson in 55 seconds and 145-pounder Doug Takada claimed a 5-1 decision win against James Liu.
