Basketball: Bainbridge girls finish regular season with fifth straight win

The Spartan girls extended their win streak to five games with a 57-35 win over Chief Sealth Thursday. Rebecca Sharar posted 10 points, nine rebounds and seven steals in the team’s last regular-season contest. Kasondra Totura also had 10. Morgan Moniz and Hannah Depew scored nine and eight points, respectively. In their first season under head coach Terry Lande, the Spartans won the Sound Division title, finishing the regular season 8-7 in the Metro (10-10 overall).

Boys basketball

The Spartans finished regular-season play with a 72-56 loss to Chief Sealth Thursday.

John Masla and Chris Bell led with 11 points apiece. Will DiIorio added 10.

The Spartans were 21-57 from the field, and 9-19 from the free throw line.

Bainbridge finishes league play 9-6 in the Metro and will be seeded sixth in next week’s playoffs.

The Spartans will host either seventh-seeded Eastside Catholic or 10th-seeded Lakeside at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
