The Bainbridge Spartans leveled Mount Tahoma in the Spartans season-opener in girls varsity water polo, notching a decisive 20-1 win.

In all, 13 Spartans scored in the lopsided contest against the Thunderbirds.

Grace Carson led the way for Bainbridge with four goals. Emma Gace contributed three goals while Spartan teammates Sagel Bush and Frances Weller added two goals apiece.

Nine other Spartans each added a goal in the total team effort: Milena Broom, Jillian Web, Trudy Ribault, Alex Miller, Julia Brooks, Juliana Moeller, Julia Tlapa, Melony Bourgeois and Taylor Jumpa.

The Spartans first game of the season was scheduled to be against Foss last week, but Bainbridge picked up a forfeit win.

In the girls water polo jamboree Saturday at Curtis High, the Spartans fell in losses against Stadium and Mercer Island, but battled Wilson to a tie.
