BHS cruises past Crusaders

SAMMAMISH – The Spartans pushed the Crusaders to an early end in their girls varsity fastpitch softball game late last week, polishing off Eastside Catholic 12-2 in a six-inning contest.

Bainbridge jumped out to a 2-0 first inning lead, then tacked on four more runs in the top of the third.

Another three Spartan runs followed in the fourth, but the Crusaders were finally able to put some scores on the board with a two-run inning.

The EC offense evaporated after that, however, and Bainbridge put the game away with another three runs in the sixth inning.

The victory improved Bainbridge’s record to 3-1 (2-0 Metro League).

Four Spartans crushed the Crusaders with a big bat attack.

Malia Peato went 4-for-4, with a home run, a double, four RBIs and three runs.

Sara Colley went 3-for-4 and had two runs.

Megan Spray had a double, three RBIs and two runs.

Morgan Lassoff went 1-for-3 and had two RBIs.

Olivia Wikstrom earned her second pitching win of the season. She gave up four hits but struck out six.
