BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge Spartans soared to another girls varsity gymnastics win by besting Shorewood and Shorecrest in a non-league matchup before the holiday break at home.
The Spartans won Friday with a total score of 167.350 — passing the team goal of 166.
Shorewood was second with 131.050, while Shorecrest claimed third place with 124.550.
Bainbridge was unbeatable on uneven parallel bars, taking first with a combined total of 38.4 to Shorecrest’s 25.2 and Shorewood’s 24.1.
Kati Cooper led BHS in the event, taking first with a score of 8.7.
Remi Rosencrans was second with a score of 8, while sister Spartans Mariko Ronan followed in third (7.5), Nicole Houmes in fourth (7.2), Keagan Daniels in fifth (7) and Lina Klinkenberg in sixth (6.6).
Karesse Pippinger placed first in vault for Bainbridge, winning the event with a score of 8.85.
Klinkenberg was second in vault (8.8) and Alathea Pippinger was third (8.7). Daniels finished in fourth (8.5).
Alathea Pippinger took the top spot on the balance beam, winning the event with a score of 8.75.
Cooper was second on beam for BHS (8.65) and Ronan was third (8.6).
Ronan and Daniels tied on the floor exercise, winning the event for Bainbridge with scores of 9.0.
Rosencrans was close behind, and finished with a score of 8.95.
Alathea Pippinger and Klinkenberg also tied, with scores of 8.8.
Ronan was the all-around champion for the meet, and she finished with an AA total of 33.2.
Alathea Pippinger was second (32.65), followed by Rosencrans (32.3), Klinkenberg (31.95), Karesse Pippinger (31.25) and Daniels (31.2).
