BHS qualifies 3 for top spots at state

Bainbridge’s girls tennis team was small but mighty at the recent District 3A tournament, placing second even though it had just two entries.

Freshmen Elle Schuchman and Malia Lemieux are the No. 1 seed going into the state competition in Richland this weekend.

They won four matches after going undefeated during the regular season.

Ella Parker of BHS also is going to state to compete in singles. She will be seeded third after going 3-1 in her district matches and placing third. Her only loss was to the girl who won the singles crown.

High school boys tennis is in the fall, but they also play at state in the spring.

From Bainbridge, the doubles team of Brogan Rice and Aiden McLennan have qualified.
