The Bainbridge Spartans completed their storybook run to the state tournament in girls water polo and won sixth place Saturday at Curtis High.
The team fell in the first round to tournament favorite Gig Harbor 24-4, but rebounded to upset Enumclaw 10-6.
The Spartans were edged by Archbishop Murphy 14-9 in tournament play last Friday.
Undaunted, Bainbridge battled back to win the Friday night finale 9-3 over Puyallup.
In the final game to determine fifth and sixth place, Mercer Island outlasted the Spartans 15-6.
The Curtis Vikings won the championship game 4-3 to win the state title against three-time champs Gig Harbor.
