BHS wins big in gymnastics

The Bainbridge Spartans flew past West Seattle and Chief Sealth in girls varsity gymnastics during one of their last meets of the season late last week.

WEST SEATTLE – The Bainbridge Spartans flew past West Seattle and Chief Sealth in girls varsity gymnastics during one of their last meets of the season late last week.

BHS prevailed with a score of 158.8. The Westside gymnasts came in second with a score of 133.5, while Chief Sealth was third with 125.2.

Remi Rosencrans was the all-around champion for Bainbridge; she finished first with 34.9.

Two other Spartans rounded out the top three finishers in the event. Siqi Talley was second (33.6) and Emma Chee placed third (32.2).

On bars, Rosencrans also brought home a first place for BHS with a score of 8.7.

Talley again maintained second (8.4) while Chee was third (7.0).

Chee found her footing on beam, along with teammate Briana Bruyere, and the pair tied for first in the event with a score of 8.8.

Rosencrans was third (8.6).

Rosencrans again impressed during the floor exercise and was unbeatable with a first-place score of 9.4.

Talley took second for the Spartans (9.1), and BHS also got a strong showing from Alathea Pippinger, who finished third (8.9).

The win improved the Spartans’ season record to 8-3.
