The Spartans advanced to the playoffs in boys lacrosse after a 11-10 come-from-behind win against King’s Way on the last day of the Division I regular season at Bainbridge High School.

Bainbridge High will now face Lake Washington on Wednesday, May 16 at home at Bainbridge Stadium.

Jake Knostman and Kaegan Ingrasci each scored three goals in Saturday’s win, which gave the Spartans its 10th victory of the season and a two-game win streak headed into the opening round against the Kangaroos.

The Knights galloped to a 4-2 lead in the first against the Spartans.

After matching a pair of goals in the second, King’s Way clung to a 6-4 halftime lead.

In the second half, Bainbridge began to battle back, and outscored the Knights 4-3 to close the gap to 9-8.

The Spartans then outscored the Knights in the fourth, three goals to one, to escape with the win.

BHS played with just one senior, Jason Ashton, who finished with two goals and two ground balls.

Fellow Spartan Greg Shea led the Spartan defense with five ground balls and Reynolds Yarbrough had nine saves. Sean Maier added two goals, one assist and three ground balls to the Spartans’ winning effort.

King’s Way was paced by Columbia River High School junior Clayton Frank with three goals, while Camas junior Jack Beall and Camas senior Jason Klein each had two.

Bainbridge finished the regular season with a 10-10-0 record, while King’s Way dropped to 9-9-0 and will play Skyline in the opening round of the playoffs.

The BHS-LW matchup has a 7 p.m. start at Bainbridge High School.
