SEATTLE – The first inning told the tale of the Spartans’ recent baseball beating at the hands of the Eastside Catholic Crusaders.
It was then, in the game’s initial stanza, that the host school busted out a 3-0 lead, which they maintained throughout the contest for a shutout win Monday.
The loss on the road evened up the Bainbridge High team’s season record to 2-2 overall. The Spartans stand at 1-1 in league play.
BHS is currently ranked in fifth place in the Metro Mountain division, behind Ingraham High (4-3 overall).
Roosevelt High lays claim to the top spot with an overall season record of 3-3 (2-0 in league play).
BHS had little time to regroup before returning home to host Rainier Beach Wednesday.
