SEATTLE – Holy Names’ ample offense proved too much for the Spartans to overcome as the Crusaders dealt Bainbridge its second league loss of the year by winning 11-4 in fastpitch softball earlier this week at Lower Woodland Park.

The score was 1-all after the first inning, but Holy Names picked up the tempo and brought home seven more runs over the next three innings to lead 8-1.

The Spartans answered with three runs in the top of the fifth, but the Crusaders came back with three runs of their own in the sixth to seal the win in the Metro League matchup.

Holy Names finished with 15 hits; Bainbridge, nine.

Emma Lindsay was a standout at the plate for the Spartans. She went 4-for-4 with two RBIs.

Fellow Spartans Riley Gregoire and Natalie Allen both went 2-for-4 and each had a run.

Deahna King (3-3) pitched for the Spartans.

Kat Lazarek led Holy Names on 3-of-4 batting that included a home run, three RBIs and two runs.

The loss put Bainbridge’s record at 8-3 overall (8-2 Metro League).
