BEAVERTON, Oregon – The Bainbridge Island Dive Club had multiple top-10 finished during the season’s first meet at the Northwest Holiday Classic.
The club is starting off the year with a seasoned group of athletes ranging from sixth grade through 12th grade, and team officials said the Beaverton meet is always a great entrée into the upcoming year’s competitive season.
The Bainbridge club had solid performances in all age groups.
Elyse Lipton placed second in the girls 12-13-year-old category in 1-meter, 3-meter and FC Level 2 Platform diving, scoring 264.90; second, scoring 235.40; and ending on platform with first, scoring 110, respectively.
In the girls 14-15-year-old category in 1-meter diving, Bryn Tiernan placed sixth (214.20) and Mia Alpaugh placed ninth (137.90).
In the girls 14-15-year-old category in 3-meter diving, Bryn Tiernan finished fifth (216.80) while teammate Mia Alpaugh was seventh (129.35).
In the girls 16-18-year-old category in 1-meter diving, Alathea Pippinger claimed eighth place (240.15), and Jackie Hellmers placed 11th (229.10).
In the girls 16-18-year-old category in 3-meter diving, Hellmers placed fourth (285.45) while Pippinger was fifth (257.86).
In the boys 14-15-year-old category in 1-meter diving, Henry Sauermann claimed fourth place, with a score of 197.05.
In the boys 14-15-year-old category in 3-meter diving, Brian Taylor was third (286.45) and Sauermann was fourth (190.65).
In the boys 14-15-year-old category in 1-meter and 3-meter diving, Kiernan Liberman was third with a score of 362.40, and first, scoring 407.40, respectively.
