BAINBRIDGE – Katie Drovdahl will be the new varsity head coach and program head for the Spartans girls soccer team, Bainbridge High athletic officials announced this week.
“Katie is a former Bothell High School English teacher and girls soccer coach, as well as a standout player at University of San Francisco, where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees,” said BHS Athletic Director Kaycee Taylor. “[She] came highly recommended and her high school teaching background complements her experience coaching.”
The new coach said she was excited to come to Bainbridge.
“It’s an honor to have the opportunity to work with the Bainbridge High School girls soccer program,” she said. “I look forward to sharing my knowledge and love of the game with the student-athletes at Bainbridge, and to helping them channel their skills and hard work into success on the soccer field.”
Taylor said Drovdahl’s enthusiasm was obvious.
“Katie will bring a tremendous amount of energy, vision and commitment to develop a successful and sustainable girls soccer program for BHS,” Taylor said.
Girls soccer is a fall sport at BHS. Drovdahl takes over the helm of the team following the resignation earlier this year of Scott Druker as coach.
