EC not EZ for Bainbridge ballers

SAMMAMISH - The Spartan varsity boys basketball team was outmatched by the scoring power of the Eastside Catholic Crusaders during a game on the road Tuesday, Jan. 7.

SAMMAMISH – The Spartan varsity boys basketball team was outmatched by the scoring power of the Eastside Catholic Crusaders during a game on the road Tuesday, Jan. 7.

The final score was 74-54.

The Crusaders led 21-16 in the first quarter and stayed ahead throughout the game. Eastside Catholic was in front 34-26 at the end of the first half.

Even so, Bainbridge senior guard Joey Blacker scored 22 points, more than any other player in the game.

Spartan teammates Blake Swanson and Oskar Dieterich both scored nine points and freshman phenomenon Lyle Terry again gave a standout performance and ended the game with eight points.

BHS junior wing Ben Beatie also chipped in six points.
