Members of the Bainbridge High School cheer program attended the Universal Cheerleaders Association Camp/Competition at the University of Puget Sound recently, bringing home huge accolades.
Schools from Washington, Oregon and Idaho were represented.
The BHS cheer program won the top “Spirit Award” again this year.
The varsity squad also won first place in “Game Day” and “Sideline” categories.
The JV team won first place in the “Rally Dance” division as well.
Bainbridge had two cheerleaders, Ben Greene and Maddie Teran, win the Pin it Forward award, said cheer team Head Coach Tawnya Jackson. The award is bestowed for leadership, being a role model, and kindness to others.
Six Spartans were chosen as “All American” and will have the opportunity to perform at a football college bowl game/parade in London or Orlando.
The top award went to Mo Guzman, Claire Jackson, Audrey Trabucco, Dana Craighead, Delaney Olive and Ben Greene.
“I am very proud of the cheerleaders,” Jackson said. “They represented our school and community in the most positive way possible. They are all true athletes and role models.”
