The Bainbridge Island Diving Club hosted the Pacific Northwest Diving Club earlier this month for the annual Spring into April Showers Diving Competition.
Annalise Pardee started off the competition, held Saturday, April 13, at the Bainbridge Aquatic Center, by performing in the exhibition category.
In the beginner 1- and 3-meter competition, Brit Hepworth of Bainbridge Island Diving won first place in the girls 11-13 group with a score of 166.25.
Jackie Hellmers of Bainbridge finished second with a score of 145.5.
Aidan Kormanik, PND, took first place in the boys 11-13 group with a total score of 155.45, with Duncan Platz of Bainbridge finished in second with 147.7.
With a score of 318.35, Bainbridge’s Cammy Rouser finished in first place in the intermediate 1-meter Springboard In competition for the girls 14-15 group, Zora Opalka of Bainbridge claimed second place with a score of 294.7 and Katie Beliveau, PND, finished third with 225.
In the boys 14-15 group, Ben Dixon of PND finished first with a score of 255.5.
In the boys 16-18 group, Steven Kane, PND, won first place with a score of 284.05 and Oey Change, PND, finished second with 279.9.
In the girls 12-13 group, Kristin Hines, PND, won first place with 199.35.
Abby Pinchak, PND, finished second with 191.9, and Chloe Michael, PND, took third with 186.65.
Gabe Ferguson, PND, won first place for the boys 10-11 group with a score of 158.75.
In the final event of the morning, the intermediate 3-meter springboard competition, Zora Opalka of Bainbridge won first place in the girl’s 14-15 group with a total of 293.5 points.
Cammy Rouser of Bainbridge took second with a score of 286.25 points and Katie Beliveau, PND, finished third with 253.
Ben Dixon, PND, won first place in the boys 14-15 group, with 263.9 points.
Abbey Pinchak, PND, finished first in the girls 12-13 group with a score of 205.20.
The next big event for the Bainbridge Island Diving Club is the Summer Region 10 Championships in Beaverton, Ore. in the second week of June.
