Neither of the Bainbridge High School basketball teams qualified for postseason play.
A WIAA playoff bracket Tuesday said the Bainbridge boys were playing at Yelm, and the Bainbridge girls were playing at Timberline Feb. 9.
However, what the bracket did not say was neither Spartan team actually qualified for the play-in games for the district tournaments.
Therefore Yelm and Timberline both advance. Timberline plays at Prairie Feb. 11, while Yelm plays at Mountain View Feb. 12.
Because BHS is 3A playing in the 2A Olympic League, the Spartans had to place third or higher to qualify for the postseason.
The boys were third for much of the season, but were beat out by Bremerton, which had to make up some games at the end of the season. The Spartans placed fourth.
Likewise, the girls were close to finishing third, but ended the season with some losses to finish fifth.
