Bainbridge didn’t get the breaks or the calls at the 3A state tournament. TACOMA – The Bainbridge fastpitch team went through every high and low a team can go through in a day of high pressure situations and tense games where one mistake can finish it.
But ultimately, it was a controversial – and later, an admitted blown – call that helped end their run at the 3A state tournament at the South End Recreation Area in Tacoma.

It’s the final week of the prep season, and three Bainbridge teams are gearing up for big tournaments this weekend.
The Spartan tennis team is headed to the 3A tournament at the Tri-City Court Club and Kamiakin High School in the Tri-Cities.
The trio of Molly Donohue, Jamie Slonaker and Brooke Shorett make their first ever appearance at the tournament with a good chance to bring home a trophy – something the three of them never figured they’d be in a position to do.
“I was just happy to get past the first round,” Slonaker said.
“That was our hope: to survive districts,” Shorett said.

The sophomore goalkeeper, big in the cage all season for the Spartans, had 15 saves to help Bainbridge win their first varsity A lacrosse trophy since 2003, defeating arch rival Mercer Island 9-7 at Memorial Stadium at Seattle Center Saturday night.
The win also cements an undefeated season for the Spartans.

The two throw back-to-back shutouts, allow only two hits all day. TUKWILA – Lindsay Willmann wasn’t expected to go long.
Suffering from tendinitis in her pitching wrist, she hadn’t thrown for a week and was under doctor’s orders not to pitch too much.
Instead, the sophomore threw a major-league-length nine innings of shutout ball as the Bainbridge fastpitch team defeated Issaquah 2-0 to make it to the semifinals of the 3A Sea-King District 2 tournament at the Starfire Sports Complex and qualify for the 3A state tournament.
