The Bainbridge Island Ski Bus will roll back into town to take islanders straight to the slopes this winter.

The ski bus will make runs for adults and youth to Steven’s Pass and Crystal Mountain starting in early January.

This year’s ski bus program offered by the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District will offer a new attraction. An adult-only bus will be added to the schedule to take islanders to Crystal Mountain on Wednesdays.

“We’ve never really offered an adult bus in the past,” said Jeff Ozimek, outdoor programs coordinator for the district.

“It’s generated a whole bunch of interest,” he said.

Ozimek said that islanders can register for the ski bus in advance on the district’s website, or by calling the district at 206-842-2306.

“You can sign up for the full six weeks and you will get a discount,” he said. “Or you can drop in.”

Ozimek further noted that registration is required and that people cannot show up the day of the trip to take a ride.

The bus going to Steven’s Pass will run from Jan. 5 to Feb. 9. Pick-up will be at 7:20 a.m. and the bus will return at 8 p.m. The bus will carry both youth and adults.

The Crystal Mountain adult bus will run from Jan. 23 through Feb. 27. It will run from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. The youth bus for Crystal Mountain will run on Saturdays from Feb. 23 through March 30, leaving at 6 a.m. and returning at 7 p.m.
