The Spartan girls and boys started the preseason with wins over Central Kitsap and Ingraham, respectively, earlier this week.
The Bainbridge boys played on the Spartans’ home courts and forged a 4-1 victory.
Head Varsity Tennis Coach Jennifer Anne Shorr said there was great play in the doubles after somewhat slow starts. No. 2 two singles saw a forfeit as Ingrahm had an ineligible player who didn’t make the trip.
“We took a loss at number one singles with some good hitting on court,” Shorr noted.
The Bainbridge girls had a solid day, she added, and were just too strong for Central Kitsap, winning 6-0.
Schorr also praised all the singles players who gave up just one game in three matches.
“Competition was tougher in the doubles but we had some solid consistency to take the matches,” she added.
Despite frigid and windy weather, Shorr said it was a good day in the Spartans’ final tune-up matches going into the regular season.
