Although home-course play was temporarily shifted to Meadowmeer Golf & Country Club last week, the Bainbridge High School varsity girls golf team remained calm and drove and putted their way to a 101-90 win against the visitors from Roosevelt.
It was the island squad’s third match of the year and the Sept. 18 win upped their overall record to 2-1.
The match was, according to BHS Head Coach Ian Havill, a “big win for the Spartans.”
Senior co-captain Kendall Havill led the day, racking up 32 points. And BHS junior co-captain Anna Kozlosky nipped her heels, earning 26.
Hayden Jobes chipped in 25 for the Spartan squad, while Makena Miller, Maya Wilder and Charlie Halberg each earned 18 points.
Elise Walters managed 17 and Gabby Edwards, 12.
The island squad next hit the road for a two-match away series before returning home Wednesday to host Cleveland, once again at Wing Point.
