The Bainbridge High girls varsity basketball team breezed their way to a 61-26 win over the visiting Nathan Hale Raiders and continually outplayed their opponents in almost every facet of the game.
From an almost immediate three pointer by Taylor Tye with 6:25 remaining in the first quarter, to the commanding 28-15 lead they boasted at the end of the first half, the game was a Spartan affair all the way.
There was a brief moment of tension early on, but the fans were able to quickly and confidently settle back in their seats.
After Tye’s initial points, the Raiders did manage to even things up briefly – 6-6 with 4:26 remaining in the first quarter – but it was not to last.
As if to make a point, the Spartans had leaped ahead 17-9 by the start of the second quarter.
The third was much of the same, with minimal offensive breakthroughs by the Raiders while the Spartans pulled further and further ahead.
The game entered it’s final quarter with the home team leading 44-21.
