Spartans shine against tracksters from O’Dea, SP and HNA

Student athletes from Holy Names Academy, O’Dea and Seattle Prep converged on Bainbridge for a four-school track meet, hosted by the Bainbridge High School track and field team, Thursday, April 12, a contest which yielded several standout Spartan performances — including new personal and school records alike.

Some especially sterling standouts among the men included: Kyle Hammer’s second-place finish (52.80), a personal record in the 400-meter dash; Carlo Ruggiero’s second place (4:36.02) personal record in the 1600-meters; Carter Hall’s 10:06.86 personal record in the 3200-meters, a third-place finish; Elliott Windrope’s third-place personal record (17.50) performance in the 110-meter hurdles; the 4×100 relay team of Joe Tabisola, Leander von Specht, Sean Lindsey and Pierre Visconti’s first-place finish (45.86) in the 4×100 relay; Joe Tabisola’s first-place finish in the discus event; Andrew Frankie Owen’s third-place high jump performance; and Bo Baird’s first-place finish, a personal record, in the pole vault.

Among the women, the superstars were: Emma Brundige’s 100-meter 12.87 personal record, and her 1:02.40 school record-setting performance in the 400-meters; Anna Scott’s second place 11:48.74 personal record in the 3200-meters; Natalie Taylor’s first-place finish (49.98) in the 300-meter hurdles; the Bainbridge team’s second-place finish in the 4×400 relay; Madeline Swietlik’s third-place shot put performance, and third-place discus showing; Brooke Troyer’s third-place high jump performance; and Emma Chee’s first-place personal record in the pole vault event.
