The Bainbridge High varsity boys lacrosse team saddled the Rough Riders with an 18-5 loss on Friday, April 19.
It was the Spartans’ first conference matchup in some time, just their second of the year.
BHS got on the board first against Roosevelt and stayed ahead throughout the game, leading 6-1 by the end of the first quarter alone.
The island squad managed 23 shots at the guest team’s goal, of which the dual RHS goalies managed to save just five.
BHS remains top dog in the 3A Metro standings with an unblemished 2-0 conference record (9-4 overall).
Ballard is nipping the Spartans’ heels at 1-1 in conference action, and Roosevelt holds the third-place spot with 0-2 (both have 5-4 records overall).
The fourth-place spot is a four-way tie between Nathan Hale, West Seattle and Franklin-Garfield.
BHS then began a three-match series of non-conference outings, starting with a home turf contest against Nathan Hale on Tuesday.
Their final conference match is slated for 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, against Roosevelt. The Spartans’ final match of the regular season is 7 p.m. Friday, May 3, at home, a non-conference outing against West Seattle.
