Spartans snag second in KingCo tourney

BELLEVUE – Filling the KingCo-Metro Crossover slot at the recent 2018 3A KingCo Baseball Tournament, the Bainbridge High varsity boys baseball team bested Juanita in Game 6 on May 12 to earn second place overall — and further cement their shot for the state playoffs.

The Spartans were slated for the matchup after a loss to Lakeside in the 3A Metro League tourney on May 8.

It was a loser-out affair against Juanita, with the winner snagging the District 2 No. 5 seed at State.

The ultimate tournament winner, the KingCo champion bound for State play, was Mercer Island.
